Gorilla trekking in Uganda is done in the sectors where by each of the 5 sectors has its own Gorilla families which are habituated for the tourism use. When booking your Gorilla permit they always ask for the sector the guest is interested at because they are not much close to each other. Another thing you cannot use a gorilla permit of another sector and track Gorillas in another sector. When Gorilla permits are done in some sectors guests have no choice but select from the available sector whether you want it or not.  The five sectors where Gorilla trekking in Uganda include: Buhoma sector, Ruhinja sector they are all found on the Northern part of Bwindi. Rushags and Nkuringo sectors are found in the Southern part of Bwindi. Finally the other sector which has only one gorilla family is Ntebeko sector found in Mgahinga Gorilla national park. This implies that there are only 8 gorilla permits for each Gorilla family per day. This is conservation restrictions that has enabled the population of mountain Gorillas to increase. Its only in Uganda where guests are allowed to do Gorilla habituation which is done only in Rushaga sector of Bwindi. In Gorilla habituation only a maximum of 4 people in a group are allowed to trek one Gorilla family hence making only 4 Gorilla habituation permits available per group per day. The Gorilla habituation permit costs 1500usd. Unlike Gorilla trekking permits that costs 700usd, during gorilla habituation guests are allowed to spend 4 hours with the Gorillas while Gorilla trekking the guests are only allowed 1 hour with the gorillas.

Gorilla trekking in Uganda are govern by rules and regulations that all the guests are briefed off before they enter in to the bush. The different regulations help in the observation of the conservation of the Gorillas.  Gorilla trekking is full of joy and excitement while in the middle of the lush rain-forest.
